The TravelSmart EatSmart program brings together students in Years 5 -7 to learn about the Environment and Sustainability. The program will encourage students to develop a TravelSmart plan that encourage students to walk, ride, car pool or catch public transport to school to reduce greenhouse emissions, increase physical activity and decrease traffic congestion around the school. Students will also have the opportunity to develop an EatSmart activity as part of their plan. Watch this blog as kids report on their project progress.

Goldfields says Air is Biggest Concern


On Wednesday 18th November 2009 students in the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder put their concerns into action during a TravelSmart EatSmart Workshop.

The students took part in a waste-free EatSmart Morning Teato learn about healthy eating and how it should be incorporated to their every day diet.

The kids used fruit to create a tasty fruit kebab. As a whole group students to highlighted the importance of eating fruit and vegetables.

To combat their concerns for Air Pollution students will also be taking part in a TravelSmart Survey to get a snapshot of school travel habits in in the Goldfields.
